I have great breaking news (unless of course you read about this on deadspin, the Washington Post, or other far more respected media outlets): The Serious Tip's favorite 7-foot 9-inch soon-to-be basketball superstar Sun Ming Ming has signed with the Maryland Nighthawks of the American Basketball Association. You might remember Sun Ming Ming from previous posts on The Serious Tip here and here. Well, he is movin' on up like George and Weezy.By signing with the Nighthawks (for free, according to Dan Steinberg), Sun Ming Ming joins a squad only 2.5 games back in the ABA's Blue Central Division. As an added bonus, Sun Ming Ming will be playing alongside (the other) "White Chocolate" Randy Gill, winner of MTV's Magic Johnson "Who Got Game" contest. Gill, like three other Nighthawks, hails from Bowie State University, which unfortunately I have never heard of. Despite the obscurity of their pasts, I see Gill and Sun Ming Ming forming a bond not unlike that of Andre the Giant and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. Unless of course, that fine Asian girl from the Nighthawks Dance Team steals Sun Ming Ming's heart before he steps on the court.
Then all bets are off.
Either way, congrats and good luck, Big Man. Congrats and good luck.
